This game is really obscure and really good, but I don't know many people who played it either.

Well that really explains why I havn't heard of it. Does it retain its value still in these times? Or would it only be good for nostalgic value?

the only other game is like it in the least bit would be Cubivore. It's a very original concept, and there really isn't another game that replicates the experience...so yeah.

Ive had this game since 1993 and until monday had never got past the first level.the shark boss just wasted me every time.i only get my snes out 3 or 4 times a year and the main reason i play e.v.o is to hear the beautiful music on the level select screen.well this week i bought some RGB scarts for the console so got the snes out to try them and the picture was well better. i played e.v.o ,which looked great, and again that shark just kept killng me. so i looked on the internet for some help and found out you can evolve you body just as you are about to die and your hit points wil be totally restored.so i built up loads of points to increase/decrease body size and finally beat that bloody shark.so 18 years later i get to play level 2 and its rubbish, like the worst platformer ever.
