Weird PAL SNES problem

Hey guys!

Long time lurker, but since I haven't been able to find a solution to my problem I decided to join so I can ask the experts around here :P

I have a really weird problem with my PAL SNES. Whenever I press Y on the second controller, it registers as if I had pressed B. At first I thought it was the controller, but I tried 3 different controllers, on different games and it's always the same. I'm guessing it's the controller port because on port 1 all controllers and games work fine.

So do any of you have an idea what might be causing this? Is there a way I might be able to fix this without having to bust it open?

Thanks in advance!

Use a small pin clean the connectors. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the connectors.

Cosmic Dust is an unknown quantity at this point

Yeah welcome ot the site Nicubus,if i remember correctly the snes connectors are connected inside by a single white flat wire and so it could be that i guess,i do have some of those knocking around i am sure but it just seems unlikely to me as the wire is unlikely to burn out and is never flexed so it may even by an ic logic fault, hope i am wrong
