Retro to be working on a new Starfox?

Interesting Tidbit I found a while earlier. I looked to see if anyone else posted this, since it's kinda old

Quote:
Do a Retro Roll Ė There are few Nintendo owned developers that are more loved than Retro Studios. They put a fresh spin on Metroid with the Metroid Prime Trilogy and brought back classic SNES platforming with Donkey Kong Country Returns. In a not so subtle statement, Retro has hinted that they were hard at work revamping another Nintendo classic.
After all, having rolled out the barrels for Donkey Kong, perhaps itís time Retro pulled off a barrel roll of a different kind.
- Retro Studios
A Retro Studios Star Fox game? Count me in. I canít even imagine how Retro is going to reinvent Star Fox, but itís sure to be epic.
SOURCE - http://www.3dsbuzz.com/nintendo-news...ek-of-january/

If this is true I'm gonna a happy little fanboy

What are you're thoughts? Would you like to see them working on Starfox?

I like what they did with the Prime series so it'd be interesting to see what they come up with if they made a new Starfox. That, and I just want a new Starfox game.

I am a big Retro fanboy, so with that said, I think that any series they create a game for will be excellent. That includes Star Fox.

A part of me wishes Dylan Cuthbert comes on as a sort of consultant or producer, but a part of me just wants to see what sort of spin Retro would put on the series without input from those previously involved with Star Fox.

I have no objections. I don't know why everyone is clamoring for Retro to do Zelda anyways. I'd rather them be behind more resurrections and such.

If Retro were to make a new Zelda that would have an impact on the timeline and its mythos, I'd agree with you. Besides, I think Aonuma would be working with them as close as possible to make sure there were no issues concerning the timeline. I would, however, want Retro to work on Zelda centered around an event that we know about, but never got the specifics on, such as the Great Flood, the Interlopers, and/or the Hyrule Unification War pre-OoT.

Considering nintendo already got a bunch of new people to work on Skyward Sword, I doubt they would just hand the next game to Retro.

Starfox sounds ok for them though.

I swear the "Retro is working on Starfox" rumor has been going around forever; since, like, a couple months after MP3's release; and still nothing has been said. Then again, I could be wrong and I just stumbled across a couple of fanatical bits of news ahead of the time.

I would like it if they did a reboot for Starfox, though. A grittier, more desolate game in the style of Prime's reinvention for Metroid would be cool, but honestly I think it would be even better if they found a fresher way to innovate Starfox.

Aw yeah, this all the way.

I'd love to see a game more focused on James' Star Fox unit and have Fox's formation of his unit as a backstory.

No matter how good this game would look, I'd still never play it. Never had any interest for Star Fox.

Oh yes, this is an awesome idea. A game focused on James would cover up a fuzzy part of the series' history. Imagine if it was about James investigating Andross' experiments for Pepper.
