Pikmin 2 - the next Earthbound?

It might not get quite that high, but the price is sure climbing fast...

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Pikmin-2-Nin...eo_Games_Games

$68.42 for ACCEPTABLE condition?!

Well like you said, the most obvious reason would be how many copies are actually out there. But I have a suspicion that people put certain games at high prices, causing the other sellers to do the same, creating an average price which is a lot higher than it should be. Which in turn, creates a rare game. They might do this because it's unique though. Can't afford Pokemon Black? Buy Diamond. Can't afford Pikmin? Oh wait there isn't anything else like it. Same for Earthbound. I noticed this Happened with Paper Mario TYD. It was cheap, then randomly went up. Clearly suspicious dealers.

It's not just eBay, though. It's high elsewhere as well.

Yeah I actually saw Pikmin 2 recently at a gamestop for 45 bucks, no instruction manual or case either, just the disc. If Pikmin 2 had come with some bonusl item like Earthbound's walk-through guide I'm sure it would even beat it in price, lol.

That sounds like a terrible deal. I think they pay so much money to trick you into going bankrupt for a game you may or may not like!

I don't get it why GC version is so much expensive. The Wii Pikmin 2 version is almost the same situation as well. Hard to find one.

Try finding the Canadian version, yes for once there's a difference. We got the PAL box art in the NTSC format. I'm hanging onto that baby forever. Even if I do prefer the Wii version. Picked the GC one up in 2010 for 20 bucks used. Not bad, back when Gamestop was pawning off GC games for cheap. I got so many GC games that year, and this was probably still the highest price of em all.
