Megaman Megaman X Vs. Megaman X2

I played all 3 of the Megaman X games for the SNES when I was much younger but I only owned the first one. I've had about 10 years experience with Megaman X but didn't remember much about the others. I bought a copy of X2 from Game Trader about 2 years ago and I am still happy with that purchase. I can't help but compare the two, but before I give my two cents on it, I would like to hear some of your opinions on which is better and why.

Megaman X
-Bigger jump from Megaman to Megaman X(in terms of story, gameplay, etc.)
-Shows that you can make a friendly series darker without it sucking
-More Memorable characters(Vile>>>>>>All 3 X-Hunters)
-Most Memorable soundtrack of the 16-bit era imo
-Cooler bosses

X2 is still great though, and it had the Green Biker Dude

I recently aquired Megaman X and i'm more than happy. Its relatively easy throughout the robot masters but Sigma was a pain in the ass until i figured out his weakness.I've played the other 2 games on a emulator some years ago and they're great sequels.I'm going to get X2 & X3 in the near future(I hope..) to complete the trilogy.7 was also great imo.But overall i'd still pick x1 over x2 or x3 just for the innovations and the great control.

I love both of these games but X1 is definitely my favorite, but not by too long of a shot. X1 has probably the best music of all time, although X2 has a great sound track as well. The bosses and upgrades you acquire from them from X1 are much cooler and have much more tasteful names, I didn't care too much for the bosses in X2 and the story line can be a little weak but it makes up for it with intense levels, great game play and a lot of secrets. Both games are fairly challenging and alot of fun. I hope to get a copy of X3 in the near future

the 16-bit soundtrack to my life. FREAKING LOVE MEGAMAN X! Number 2 was pretty good, but still have to give more love to the first.

I bought X2 as a kid; didn't see the first one. Down the line I eventually played Megaman X, and my thoughts were... it was dull compared to X2.

X2 had better upgrades (at least the helmet actually does something semi-useful) and all the stages were much more interesting and well designed. The bosses are up for grabs, most all of them from both games were well designed (as far as their movements/attacks), except Armored Armadillo from X1. Most annoying boss ever because he basically has 2 attacks (3 if you use a charge beam) which are very easy to dodge, but all he does half the time is spam that stupid beam. Terrible boss.

Anyhow, my vote is for X2. And hello from 2014!
